How Do Hydrogen Fuel Cells Work?
Hydrogen joins the fuel cell through the anode. Here, hydrogen particles respond with a compound and divide into electrons and protons. Oxygen from the ambient air arrives on the other side across the cathode.
The positive-assailed protons pass through the permeable electrolyte casing to the cathode. The negatively charged electrons stream out of the cell and make an electric flow, which can be used to drive an electric or hybrid-electric thrust system.
In the cathode, the protons and oxygen then mix to make H2O.
