These Golden Eggs are used in place of event crates, and they do not require any special keys or decryptors to be opened once they have been purchased with event currency. You'll be able to trade balloons for up to ten Golden Eggs, each of which will contain one of over 60 possible Customization Items from our retired Champions Series Crates. Note that the highly sought-after Zomba wheels were included in the Champions Crate 4, which means that some very lucky players may be able to obtain a set of the previously-discontinued Zombas.
Whether or not these items will be tradeable to other players was not specified in the official announcement, which only stated that Golden Egg items can be traded in. However, Psyonix Community Manager Psyonix_Devin confirmed on the Rocket League Trading Discord that Golden Egg items will be tradeable to other players, which means that receiving some of the more valuable Champions Series items could be worth quite a few keys. Finally, the post announced the creation of a new arena for rocket league items called Throwback. This arena is based on SARPBC-style field setups, with the exception that the goals on either end are not built into the walls. As an alternative, they're more like hockey goals, with players able to play the ball behind the net or use the back end of the net as a ramp. Psyonix also states that the physics on Throwback will be tweaked to use a slightly lighter ball in order to replicate the feel of SARPBC.
While throwingback arenas will be kept in a separate 'anniversary' playlist from the standard arenas, this will avoid the inconvenience of having to deal with a different field arrangement while competing. Personally, I'm looking forward to giving the SARPBC arena a shot, and I'm hoping to be rewarded with a Golden Egg or two. Everyone should have a successful day! I'm an avid gamer who also happens to be a technology student. I'm interested in how we interact with technology and what the implications of these interactions are. Video games serve as a fantastic interface between humans and technology because they are constantly pushing the boundaries of interactivity and aesthetic design.
