Basic components and partial functions of RFID system:
1. Tag: it is composed of coupling elements and chips. Each tag has a unique electronic code and is attached to the object to identify the target object; For reader recognition.
2. Reader: a device that reads (and sometimes writes) tag information. It can be designed as a handheld or fixed device.
3. Antenna: transmit RF signal between tag and reader.
Working principle of RFID reader
The basic principle of RFID is to use the transmission characteristics of RF signal and spatial coupling (inductive or electromagnetic coupling) or radar reflection to realize the automatic identification of the identified object. The reader/writer sends a certain frequency of RF signal through the antenna: when the RFID tag enters the reader/writer workplace, its antenna generates an induced current, so that the RFID tag gets energy and is activated and sends its own coding and other information to the reader / writer; The reader / writer receives the carrier signal from the tag, demodulates and decodes the received signal and sends it to the computer host for processing; The computer system judges the legitimacy of the label according to logical operation, makes corresponding processing and control for different settings, and sends command signals; The data demodulation part of RFID tag demodulates the data from the received RF pulse and sends it to the control logic, which receives instructions to complete storage, sending data or other operations.
Function of RFID reader/writer
1. Be responsible for communicating with RFID tags, initializing RFID tags, reading and writing data information in RFID tags, and managing RFID tags, such as disabling their functions;
2. It is responsible for the communication with the computer platform system. On the one hand, it transmits the data information read from the RFID electronic tag to the platform, on the other hand, it receives the control information of the platform system to complete specific application actions;
3. RFID reader/writer has the ability of anti-collision to identify multiple tags, can identify multiple mobile electronic tags, can complete the simultaneous access of multiple tags, and has the ability of anti-collision of information read by multiple tags at the same time;
4. RFID reader has strong compatibility, compatible with the most common communication protocol, and can communicate with a variety of electronic tags.
