3-Cyanopyridine Hazard Overview:

【Health Hazards】3-cyanopyridine is irritating to eyes, skin, mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. It has an inhibitory effect on the central nervous system. Rabbit skin coating 4000mg/kg, died within 6 ~ 36h. 3-Cyanopyridine powder can cause permanent clouding of the cornea.

【Explosion Hazard】3-cyanopyridine is flammable and irritating.

first-aid:

【Skin Contact】Skin contact with 3-cyanopyridine immediately remove the contaminated clothing and rinse with plenty of running water. seek medical attention.

【Eye Contact】Eye contact with 3-cyanopyridine immediately lift the eyelids and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes. seek medical attention.

【Inhalation】Inhalation of 3-cyanopyridine, remove from the scene to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. seek medical attention.

【Ingestion】Accidental ingestion of 3-cyanopyridine, drink enough warm water, induce vomiting. seek medical attention.

3-Cyanopyridine

Fire-fighting measures:

[Hazardous characteristics] 3-cyanopyridine is flammable in case of open flame and high heat.

[Hazardous combustion products] Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen cyanide.

[Firefighting method] Firefighters must wear gas masks and full-body firefighting suits to put out the fire in the upwind direction. Extinguishing media: water mist, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand.

3-cyanopyridine leakage emergency treatment:

[Emergency treatment] Isolate the leaked contaminated area and restrict access. Cut off the source of ignition. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear dust masks (full face masks) and protective clothing. Avoid dust, carefully sweep up, put in a bag and transfer to a safe place. It can also be washed with plenty of water, diluted with the washing water and put into the waste water system. If there is a large amount of leakage, cover it with plastic sheeting or canvas. Collect and recycle or transport to waste disposal site for disposal.

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection:

【Engineering Control】The production process of 3-cyanopyridine is airtight and fully ventilated.

[Respiratory system protection] When the dust concentration in the air exceeds the standard, you must wear a self-priming filter dust mask. Air respirator should be worn during emergency rescue or evacuation.

【Eye Protection】Wear chemical safety goggles.

【Body Protection】Wear anti-virus infiltration work clothes.

【Hand Protection】Wear rubber gloves.

[Other protection] After work, shower and change clothes. Store poison-contaminated clothes separately and wash them for later use. Pay attention to personal hygiene.

3-cyanopyridine storage and transportation characteristics:

[Operation Precautions] Closed operation and comprehensive ventilation. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter dust masks, chemical safety goggles, anti-virus infiltration work clothes, and rubber gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources, and smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation systems and equipment. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with oxidizing agents, reducing agents, acids and alkalis. When handling, it should be lightly loaded and unloaded to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equipped with the corresponding variety and quantity of fire fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may be harmful residues.

[Storage Precautions] 3-Cyanopyridine is stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. It should be stored separately from oxidizing agents, reducing agents, acids and alkalis, and should not be mixed. Equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. Storage areas should be provided with suitable materials to contain spills.
