'America's Favorite Drive?' Could It Be That North Carolina Is the Location?

In the region where I was raised, there is a proverb that describes the fog that lingers on the summits of mountains, waiting to rise with the sun like dew accumulates on the grass that is bright green.

In the region where I was raised, there is a proverb that describes the fog that lingers on the summits of mountains, waiting to rise with the sun like dew accumulates on the grass that is bright green. Back when I was a kid, I used to go about barefoot in my backyard in order to capture fireflies. At the time, Asheville, North Carolina, was considered a little town that was snuggled in the Smoky Mountains.

Now, it may be a lively and busy location geometry dash for bachelorette parties and a getaway from major cities, but in my opinion, it is still home to the most tranquil resort in the state of North Carolina.

It is a destination that runs for kilometers, weaving through natural scenery, historical sites, significant landmarks, hiking trails, and breathtaking vistas. "America's Favorite Drive" is the name given to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a gorgeous roadway that stretches for a total of 469 miles. A significant number of tourists start their trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and then go to Shenandoah National Park, which is located in Washington state. Due to the fact that it encompasses the Blue Ridge Mountains, it gives you the opportunity to lose yourself in the tranquility of the valleys, the rolling hills, and the striking blue colors of the peaks (for which the name was given).

The Blue Ridge Parkway is not only a destination on a list of things to see for the locals; rather, it is a means of evading the traffic that is so congested that it is impossible to move. It is a time-honored custom in our family to take pleasure in a cup of hot apple cider or coffee while taking in the sights and sounds of the breathtaking autumn foliage. It is a picnic basket that is filled with sandwiches made with tomato and mayonnaise, as well as ice-cold tea, taken on a hot and humid summer day next to a drinking well that is still maintained by the people. There is something about a winter trek to a waterfall or an overlook that, regardless of how many times you have seen it, somehow manages to steal your breath away.

The opportunity to become lost in the depths of Mother Nature is one of the things that contributes to the tranquility of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This may be accomplished with or without ever stepping out of your vehicle. With hundreds of hiking paths, enough of territory to traverse at a moderate pace (with a maximum speed of 35), views, artisan craft stores, and tiny villages along the journey, there is something that can help everyone relax and unwind.

I have a suggestion for you if you are able to go the Parkway on a spring afternoon when the air is crisp and the weather is perfect: The Avett Brothers should be played on low volume, the windows should be rolled down, and the sunroof should be opened. The remainder will be taken care of by the mountain air and the beautiful sky of the Carolinas.
