Weighted blankets have become extremely popular recently, and the main reason for this surge in interest is due to their numerous and compelling benefits.
Weighted blankets are specifically beneficial for individuals with anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders or sleep disorders. Many people are reporting improved symptoms while using these blankets.
They are known to enhance relaxation and improve sleep quality. Additionally, they help eliminate chronic pain and reduce depression in both humans and animals.
A psychiatrist at a general hospital conducted one of the most interesting studies I came across in 2019.
In a psychiatric hospital, researchers evaluated on patients who were using weighted blankets. The researchers did not assign patients into two different groups. Instead, they tested 61 participants who used weighted blankets against another set of 61 participants who did not use the blankets; they matched both groups with respect to demographics.
According to research publish on ScienceDirect, adults suffering from anxiety experience reduce heart rates and lower levels of stress when they are finally given a 14 soon or 20 pound blanket which somehow weighs heavy enough within 20 minutes period. This study indicates that these therapeutic tools can indeed help manage anxiety very effectively.
The control group remained unaffected by the lack of either a weighted blanket or lap pad because they did not report any significant depression symptoms.
Not only does it work great but also its really luxurious as claimed. An elegant grey trim made of pure cotton enriches its layout.
Thousands of micro glass beads are embed to provide weight which is a uniquely satisfying feel.
Initially, I worried a weighted blanket might feel oppressive, but it’s been surprisingly comfortable. At any time in the night there’s always just the right amount of pressure and never an experience of overheating.
What else could be better? My dogs love this just as much as I do! Definitely adding this to your bed is not going to have any regret!
